On 21st June 1979, a hostel for the students was started at Pallivela center in Konaseema of  East Godavari.In September 1981, with the view of future growth and expansion, the centre headquarters was shifted to Ravulapalem, a small town situated on the high way between Vijayawada and Kakinada..


1. English Medium School

In July 1981, at the request of the local people, an English Medium School was started at Ravulapalem. On 8th August, 1981, the missionary sisters of Mary Help of Christians, arrived to help in the mission work.

2. Boarding for Girls and Boys

They started the hostel for the girls. The sisters look after the kindergarten and the primary section of the school. In 1983 the house for the residence of the sisters, girl’s hostel and the kinder garden sections of the school were completed. In 1987 the building for the residence of the Salesians, and boy’s hostel were inaugurated. In 1991 The Salesians decided to give the best education to the boys and girls of the centre by admitting them to the English medium school. In 1992 the English medium school building was inaugurated.

3. Student Scholarship

The School also supports the poor and meritorious students to continue their studies by providing scholarships.

PARA—A Product of Ravulapalem

In August 1986, after the severe floods in the Godavari, the Salesians at Ravulapalem with the help of local volunteers, organized relief and rehabilitation works for the flood victims. As a follow up programme, a social work wing was established in the parish. In 1988, it was registered as an NGO, called “PARA” (Peoples’ Action for Rural Awakening).
