Starting an own business and supporting the family gives happiness

14 July 2014

My name is M. Nagamani and I am from Pezzonipet Mandal. Ours is a poor family. My husband works in a wholesale shop. We have one daughter. My husband’s salary was not sufficient for the survival of our family. I told my husband that I will also work and support him in fulfilling the family responsibilities. But my husband said no for that. I was thinking of doing something and helping him but the problem was where to start and how to start.  One day I observed that some people came to my opposite neighbor’s house and they had a meeting and while going they collected money from everyone and left. I went there and asked my friend what it was. My friend told me that they are from Bosco Seva Kendra and they support us financially. I went to the BSK staff and learned about the MAC societies they are running. Immediately with some of my friends we formed a group and named it as “Tini group. After saving for a period of 7 months I got the first loan of Rs. 5000/-.

As my husband works in a whole sale shop, with the loan amount we bought some provisions from that shop and use to sell it at the shop we started at home. I cleared the first loan and got the second loan also. I shifted the business from my house to the opposite shop which we took for rent. I cleared all my loans and debts. My husband, myself and my child, three of us are living happily today because of the extended support of the Mac society supported by Bosco Seva Kendra.

I sincerely thank the BSK staff and the MAC society staff from the bottom of my heart for being the reason behind our success and our happy living.
