Don Bosco Tech. is a network of 125 Don Bosco skill training centers which provides employment-linked and market-driven short duration vocational courses to the economically and socially marginalized youth.

Who are the Beneficiaries :

Youth from below poverty line. Underprivileged youth from 24 states are trained in market-driven course and placed in entry level opportunities in various sectors through the Bosco Academy for Skills and Employment (BASE) project.

Brief description of the project:

Set up in 2008 by the Salesians of Don Bosco, DB Tech addresses the issues of unemployment, employability and lack of skilled manpower with a market-based approach that is sensitive to the socio-economic needs of marginalized youth in the age group 18-35 years. Underprivileged youth from 24 states are trained in market-driven course and placed in entry level opportunities in various sectors. This project receives support from the The Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) of the Ministry of Rural Development, Govt of India, functions with the sole objective of providing employment linked, market-oriented training to youngsters from below poverty line sections of the country.

Activities :

  1. TOT and Capacity building programs for the staff of our technical schools.
  2. Life Skills for the students of our technical schools.
  3. Up gradation of the technical schools by procurement of the equipments needed.

Skilling Tribal Youth in partnership with Govt.of AP

Inauguration of Youth Training Center at Maridimilli In the process of expanding its mission of skilling youth of India, DB Tech launched a Youth Training Center (YTC) at Maridimilli, Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. The centre is a collaborative effort of the Govt. of AP with DB Tech as the implementing partner. It will cater to the tribal youth residing in and around Rampachodavaram.

80 young persons successfully trained at DBHRDC

Over 80 young boys and girls completed their vocational and technical training from Don Bosco Human Resource Development Centre (DBHRDC), Gagillapuram in September 2015.  Barring 10 boys who were trained in multiple skills ie., Electrical, Plumbing and Refrigeration, the others were trained under the DB Tech domains of Hospitality and Electrician Courses with Basic Computers and Spoken Englis
